Ocean Park River Tycoon: Theme-park brand energy inside games
Ocean Park Hong Kong used a Roblox game, River Tycoon, to talk about Hong Kong’s rivers and to give Gen Z a reason to care before they ever buy a ticket.
The challenge
A theme park has to be chosen. Display ads can announce a visit. They rarely teach why a place matters, or hold a teenager’s attention long enough to build that reason.
The concept
River Tycoon, first previewed as Ocean Ambassadors, is a Roblox game about Hong Kong’s rivers and why they are worth protecting. Play is the lesson: conservation is the point of the session, not a caption under a video.
The in-game journey
The game uses playful systems to explain river ecology, and it echoes Ocean Park’s own world, including the giant panda habitat, ocean life, and the thrill rides. The aim is curiosity that can travel from the game to a real visit.
Partnership
MetaMinding Lab built the experience with Ocean Park Hong Kong as a brand and education partnership. The public story stays on the park, the rivers, and the play. It does not invent attendance or sales figures.
What it shows
River Tycoon is a working example of New Gen Pulse thinking: a brand enters the game network as something people play, then keeps a path back to the real place. The same pattern sits beside Amnesty and In Lieu in MetaMinding Lab’s campaign work.
